A Canary in a Coal Mine: Why I Created Stress Solutions
In 1996 I almost died from multiple chemical sensitivities and food allergies. I lived in a virtual "bubble": to avoid passing out I had to wear a mask, use oxygen, avoid every potential environmental threat, and eat no more than a teaspoon of any single food at a time. Today I'm fully functional. But when I was most ill, I made the decision that if I lived, I would dedicate my life to doing my part to improve the model of healthcare in the world. So I used my body as a test site.
Allergic to all drugs and herbs, only acupuncture gave me any relief, which lead me into the world of energy medicine. With six years of reading, seminars, conferences and experience with what worked most effectively for me and others, I've concluded that the most sensible and useful health model is Traditional Chinese Medicine integrated with other ancient traditions, updated with modern biophysics.
From these findings I developed a model that covers what is common to most illness, even though the way any particular illness is played out is unique to each of us. No one therapy or supplement will solve the problem. After all, at minimum we absolutely must have air, water, food, shelter, sunlight, and relationships of various kinds to survive-and even more to thrive. All of these essential elements must be healthful: if the elements of survival are toxic, they don't nourish us, and we therefore can't be healthy. Yet we inescapably live in toxic, stressful environments. Our model of health and illness is designed to simplify the bewildering array of information and to empower each person to become their own primary health care provider in order to survive and thrive in this toxic world.
Self Care Workshop
For in-depth information relevant to everyone, Stress Solutions provides a workshop called "Life as Medicine". This provides:

- References to books, web sites, key products and health care practitioners.
- Practice in using simple and effective tools to take charge of your own health.
This workshop is designed to help individuals discover and deal with stressors, often hidden, causing them to lose their health and well being. Our focus is providing information, so we:
